2003 Chevrolet Impala

PostPosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 12:30 pm    Post subject:  Sayin' hi Reply with quote

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking here since I bought my Impala last year but posted for the first time Saturday. I have a 2003 base Impala with the 3.4. It has about 135000 miles or so. My friend was given a lowball estimate by the dealer for trade-in so she decided to sell it to me instead. I had to get it fixed up to pass inspection but it's been pretty solid since then.

I'm not real big into performance/appearance, I'm more of an ICE person. I put in the JVC deck from my last car, using the Scosche interface and a Metra dash kit. I added an aux interface with 1/8" plug and mini-USB charger to the dash kit so I can plug in my cell phone and play MP3s off it. It sits in the CD slot under the radio when it's plugged in.

I tapped into the amp harnesses in the trunk, I'm running the back speakers off deck power and I have the front speakers hooked up to a crossover and small amp. Still using the factory speakers. I also have an ancient sub located in the trunk. I'm not looking to break any sound quality records, but it sounds pretty decent.

Big thank yous to BBEngineer for the amp schematics, they made everything much easier to do.

Good to see you finally posted Laughing

I'm more into the interior too, and I'm trying to look for ways to improve mine at the moment. Keep modding!
