HID Relay, BALLAST PROBLEM?

2000 Chevrolet Impala

okay so when i hooked up my Hids my passenger hid light worked and warmed up nd all that but my driver side did not, instead it flickered and the ballast made a ticking noise. i was told if i was to buy a relay this will help. i put the relay in today, same stuff happened except the bulb didnt flicker or anything it was just off.. do i have a bad ballast or what? someone please explain this to me Evil or Very Mad

I'm gonna assume that you have a harness as well. If not i recommend that you purchase one. You can possibly have the wire plugged in backwards in the ballast, trust me its a simple easy mistake. If that's not the problem take a multimeter and place it on the two wires coming out the ballast to see if the ballast is getting power. It should read a low number if it stays at 0 that means your not getting power and we can diagnose more after you try that.
