Winter tires and a bit of common sense goes a long way. You have to remember there was once a time when almost everything was RWD and people did just fine in the winter. Problem now is people are used to FWD and act like an idiot when they get RWD in the snow.

Says the aftermarket community and other owners. The AWD models use different suspension components, drivetrain pieces and wheel offsets for starters. IIRC, items like headers, downpipes and exhausts are all unique to the AWD models as well. So there aren't as many parts available for the AWD models as there are for their RWD counterparts. Factor in that AWD sales are less than RWD and fewer AWD owners are looking to mod, the AWD aftermarket segment is a minority of the LX community.

yeah, more and more stuff is coming out for the AWD models, but not all RWD mods can be used.

And this is all for the 1st gen LX platform. It remains to be seen how much can carry over to the new models. It wouldn't surprise me if most of the components available for the 1st gen won't work for the new models. Then you're starting over again from scratch.
