...or,at least that's what we call it in the electrical trade here in VA.

But,anyway,I got a few rough pics of what I'm doing with it so far. Needs fitting, trimmin'.cleaning,as do some of nooks and crannies of the bay. If you're familiar w/it,as I'm quite sure most of you are,it's easily removed and reseated.

I was kinda wondering if any of you have seen/done those "raw/exposed edges" under the hood with this stuff.I think it looks ok. Anybody else? Rolling Eyes

I'll post some better pics,hopefully,when/if I think I'm finished. lol

Thanx

Is that stuff going to hold up to the heat in the engine bay?

I fully believe it will. Stuff's pretty durable, With the metal bead that runs through it,it should have no problem holding it's shape. I/we will certainly find out.

thanx

it looks alright, just clean the engine bay, then put it on so it looks cleaner. I like it, but i just dont see the point of it.

I wasn't so much concerned about melting as much as I am out gassing toxic substances if it gets hot.

Not very likely. They line all sorts or electrical panels with this stuff. Transformers and similar electrical equipment see high temps all the time and electricians still use this stuff. I had some on my 3400 MC. ZZP uses it on their Wizaired intake too. It just doesn't look the same on the Wizaired because they glue weatherstripping to it.

Does look good, but why are you doing it, cleaner look? Be sure too take a full pic on the engine bay when done. Very Happy

It reminds me of the chrome edging that you see on a lot of cars leaving autozone. This isn't as bad but it's along those lines.

I think it makes it look clean. i dont see how it reminds you of chrome stripping people put on there fenders and where ever else.
