2003 Impala, the ignition wont turn at all, tried disconnecting the battery to reset everything....no luck. Made sure the car is all the way in park...no luck. Tried spare key just to make sure it wasn't the key itself....no luck. Any other suggestions? the key just wont turn in the ignition.

Try turning the steering wheel while turning the key.

Won't help... there is no column lock on the 00-05 Impala...

Sounds like you need to replace the ignition cylinder...

BBE that's what all my research has led me to believe as well. Is there any brand of ignition cylinders i should steer clear of? and what kind of install am I in for? is it just pop the old one out, put the new one in? and a security relearn?

It's a bit more complicated than pulling out the old one and slipping in the new one if you can't get the cylinder to turn. IIRC, you need to drill some tabs out to get the cylinder out of the switch. When I replaced mine it took me less than 90 minutes to do the entire job, including the security relearn.

And yes, you will need a security relearn.

Right...and your buddy was able to turn his key. Nick can't turn his key. It's a mechanical issue, not an electrical issue.

My power locks stopped locking after I installed a CD player. Any way to fix that?

It's unrelated. Power locks that stop working all of the sudden has been a sign of a failed BCM in the past. I believe it was Whightlightning04MC that had that problem.
