Okay, so my Impala keeps stalling out. It'll run fine for a while, then just stall out of nowhere, and will take a while to start back up. Sometimes it'll drive fine, but after it sits for a little bit, it won't start up and stay running. Thought it was the MAF, so I cleaned that, and tried everything out again. Same problem. Replaced the MAF, same problem. Replaced the coil packs thinking that could be the problem, but it wasn't. I'm not throwing any codes, and I don't have any stored. Do any of you have an idea as to what the problem could be?

Sounds like a crank sensor issue

Does it stall under load or when you are at idle or returning to idle?

I would check your fuel filter first.

Could also be a clogged cat. I have a used, but working magnaflow sitting at my house if you discover that's your problem and want to buy one on the cheap.

With that, car usually startsright back up after stalling without any problems. This sounds different.

Sounds like the fuel pump might be on the way out

Get a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail when it won't restart and see if the pressure is low

have you checked the FPR? I had a problem where mine wouldn't start in the middle of the day, replaced that and it starts fine.

sorry for the delayed response. its definitely not the cat, i've got a pretty new ZZP DP. It's hard to say when it stalls, sometimes its returning to idle or at idle, sometimes its coming up from idle. I replaced the FPR today, and that wasn't the problem either.

Another thing I've noticed is that when it starts, and stays running, it'll get to operating temp with no problems and stay running and even start right back up after turning it off. But if I let the car sit for 10-15 minutes afterwards, it won't even start.

unplug the MAF for a few days and see if it clears up. You may have replaced it, but that could have been a faulty one as well. I had the exact problem with mine, and that was the issue

Just as a heads up to everyone, I am still having the same problems. I've replaced just about everything I've heard the problem could be. I'll have a video up shortly showing you the symptoms. Maybe that'll give you guys a better idea of what it could be.

As mentioned by Tmac08impala, have you tried replacing the crank sensor? Cool

Prob not the issue but never hurts to check. Look and see if all the vacuum lines looks right. Specifically the brake booster line from the back of the manifold.

It doesn't have the issues of a faulty CPS, so no. But anyway, here is the video. Before this, I let it run for a while. This is after a 10 minute cool off, and right after this video was ended, the car stalled out again. Hopefully one of you can help

listened to your video. Sounds like a fuel problem. If crank sensor is going bad it will not let fuel be delivered to engine. Cool
