Well you should probably start by figuring out if the sensor is bad or their is a legitimate problem with high fuel tank pressure...

It may be the level sender because i never get accurate fuel reading. 5 minutes its on a certain line then before you know it either higher or lower. Gets me confused. But its a new pump from autozone that was replaced just last year around the fall. An L36 pump that is. Should i get an l67 pump?

I didn't get any codes when my fuel level sensor/sender went bad..just had an irratic fuel level reading. I would try changing the fuel cap, and then changing the tank pressure sensor.

btw, I got my fuel level sensor off of ebay for a fraction of the cost getting it thru a parts store...just get the AC delco # and search around. Don't get ANYTHING BUT ac delco, I tried to get a cheaper one from somewhere else that wasnt delco and it wasnt even the right one.

iirc, there's two connectors on top of the fuel pump, we have the access doors in our trunk so it wouldn't hurt to go double check.

Here is the ACDELCO Part # 16238399.

Can probably hit up zspot and he may be able to get it cheaper than $45 off of rockauto.

From when I had my pump out I can remember seeing the fuel tank pressure sensor RIGHT next to the connector that the fuel level sensor and other wires connect to. It's hard to explain, but once you look at it, it will basicaly explain itself.

That would be the first thing I would probably change after making sure the gas cap is secure and not leaking.

Not a problem, I only remember this because I had my fuel pump out 3 times in less than 2 weeks.

The first fuel level sensor I ordered off rock auto didn't match up at all...so I got a Brand new in box one off ebay for a 3.8l camaro for $34, worked perfectly.

Call me crazy, but the OP is having a fuel tank pressure problem, not a fuel level sensor problem. I don't think changing the level sensor is going to help.

You're not crazy. I was also referring to how he said his fuel level sensor wasn't giving him an accurate reading, and how if he's going to change the fuel tank pressure sensor it would be fairly easy to do the level sensor at the same time.
