I just joined NAIOA and wanted to check in. My grandfather passed away in Febuary and I was able to purchase his 1964 Impala from his estate. It had been parked in his shed since 1975.

It is a 2 dr hardtop sport coupe, white with red interior, 283 and powerglide transmission with 83,680 original miles. The original vinyl seat cover is still on the rear seat and it is still on the back of the front bench seat. It is in good condition for the amount of time that it had been sitting. Mice have been through out the car and pulled insulation out and left nut shells everywhere. The worst area is in the trunk where mice had built nest and the urine actually ate through the metal on the drivers side rear corner at the bumper. There was also a lot of shed snake skin in the trunk and I think there might still be one in there some where. I had cleaned and vacuumed the trunk out and when I looked today there was some snake "poop" on the ledge where the spare tire goes.

Any way, I look forward to reading the forum and learning as much as possible.

Hey man, sorry about the passing of your grandfather. I love old impalas, but sadly this is not the place for them. This is a w-body site, not a A-body site. Although tons of knowledge here, i dunno how much will pertain to your situation.

Anyway, welcome!
