I found this on the battery rack.

Coolant sprayed from the hose?

My coolant has leaks somewhere, I wonder if this is coolant related.

Definitely looks like corosion. If it's under or around the battery tray, then it sounds like battery may be leaking acid.

or just coolant spray catching the battery terminals and causing the plate to corrode, or any variance of that. just clean it up and continue with life.

If this is the case, I need to find where the coolant comes from. How should I check that?

Feel your hoses for rough spots & tears... etc. Check for puddles under your car or coolant dripping... etc.

going by its location, focus on the hose connecting the coolant reservoir to the radiator. you can get a replacement easily enough, its just 3/8ths rubber hose.

It is most definally battery acid that is leaking, the yellowish color of that sort of corrsion is caused by the sulfer in the battery acid.

How old is the battery? I replace mine about ever 4-5 years. My family is a "ain't broke don't fix it" family but I'd rather try to take care of what I am able to, then take it in for something I cannot repair/replace myself.

Mix up some Baking Soda and water in a cup and pour it on it.

This will neutralize the acid.

Then rinse with water and use a wire brush if needed.

FYI, the runoff will stain your cement driveway, so do this out in the street.
