So, I actually had time today to give the SS its first detail of the year. Washed, waxed and buffed. Interior completely detailed. Took most of the afternoon. I also removed the gold bowtie up front and replaced it with a red Liquidome bowtie from Grafxwerks.

I thought I'd post some shots:

I'm going to eventually take off the rear bowtie--any suggestions on how to do it? I've also toyed with the idea of removing the "IMPALA" letters and just leaving the SS, but haven't completely decided on that yet.

Removing the bowtie (and any of the other emblems on the car) requires nothing more than persistence with some very fine fishing line / goo gone and a hair dryer (or just a nice warm sunny day)

Looks good!

It is, by about half-an-inch. Not sure why. It was that way when I bought the car. It bugs me a little too, but not so much for me to spend any money to do anything about it. The exhaust tips themselves bug me more—they aren't nearly as polished and shiny as they appear in these pictures. Those'll have to be replaced at some point. Sad

go under neath your car, you will see the rubber exhaust mouunts that are holding your exhaust up, buy a ring clamp(or 2) and wrap it around one or 2 of the rubber exhaust mounts and start tightening it. untill its straight.

almost all impala's driver side exhaust hang down further then the passengers side...easy fix though Very Happy

Yup. I'm leaning that direction, but won't have a chance to doing anything until next weekend.

Have you tried Nevr-Dull or Turtle Wax's Chrome Polish? I use turtle wax chrome polish on my mom's 2010 malibu ltz chrome tips, and my 01 ls's chrome exhaust tip, works wonders!

ive heard nevr-dull works great too.

I wish I would have gotten more shots of it before I sold it, since the dealer whored it with their tag... but you get an idea.

i'm not trying to start a big conflict but i didn't like when they changed up the impala in 06.. if i were to add yet another chevy to my garage, it would have to be the malibu over the impala hands down. i think it's how much they rounded out the newer imp and the hood, def dont like the crease line Question . never understood that...
