I feel ya, I filled up last night for $54, from really close to empty. $3.29/gal here.....

Driving home from the gas station I got about 24mpg according to the DIC using my cruise control and keeping my foot out of the gas...that's about all I think you can do unfortunately. :/

Quit driving like a jack ass and you will see pretty respectable gains in fuel economy.

empty the trunk (weight savings)
lose the subs / amps (weight savings)
check tire pressure (rolling resistance)
maintenance (optimize cars running)
drive slower (use less fuel)

all you guys and your cheap gas and small engines Rolling Eyes Im seeing $4 gas popping up all over near me.

Yasin, I just looked in your garage. Does your car really have 250k+ miles? If it does, you might want to look into new filters, plugs, wires, etc.

It costs me only about $40 to fill up. I never drive it empty or below 1/4.

Not bad on MPG either. I'm getting about 29.

not a "how much is gas in your area" or "how much to fill up" thread. The OP asked about how to add some MPG. Please stay on topic.

Make sure you're up on your maintenance. PBSS pretty much nailed it with his post.

let me correct your first statement... You can really save on gas if you plan trips accordingly so that you do everything in one trip out rather than make a whole bunch of small trips for everything. This effectivly will cause you to drive less since you are driving smarter, and you will save money. also you can get your car tuned, it is possible to tune the pcm to run more fuel efficient by making fuel the limiting reaction instead of of O2 which is what is currently the set up. this can be done my setting the goal stoic. to 14.7 - 15 durring normal temp operation parameters. however it needs to be done proberly cause the coolent system needs adjustment too, to counter the lost effects of the evaporative cooling of the gas so that your engine doesn't over heat, and the cylinders still stay cool enough.

Yeah, I picked a great time to buy a Tahoe Big Thumbs Up

Fill up from empty is around $85.
Can't complain though... it's much more comfortable than the Impala, and isn't too bad yet. Once it gets over $4, I will park it. I parked the Impala last time gas got above $4 here...

3.49$ last I saw. Sometimes I'm glad I have to walk everywhere (get up and move this fat ass around). I don't have to worry about how much it'll cost to fill my tank, I'll can't afford it.

If you replace them get AC Delco Iridium plugs and AC Delco wires. If you know they have been replaced somewhat recently, I wouldn't be in a hurry, but if you don't know the history of the vehicle I'd do plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc.
