I swapped in the PCM/BCM/Keyless unit/airbag computer and radio from a shoddily rebuilt Impala that was junked, it was previously wrecked and the airbag computer had some markings so it probably came from another car.

Yesterday, I swapped in another PCM/BCM set and left the previous airbag SDM in. I did the security relearn and the car runs fine, airbag light flashes like normal then goes off.

In the Service Manual, it says the BCM must be programmed after SDM replacement, but here it appears to work fine without. I'll swap in my original unit anyway if it doesnt have to be reprogrammed. Anybody have experience with the airbag modules before?

Nope,.. shouldn't need to. Plug and play as long as the system was disabled and enabled properly.
