Do the Montes have the awesome access door for the fuel pump like the impalas?

And is there anything specific to check out on these cars?

I would imagine it does. The MCs and Impala are pretty much the same.

Maybe not... The fuel pump access panel disappeared from the Impala sometime in 2004. My guess is the Monte Carlo followed suit.

Why? Are you anticipating replacing a fuel pump already? (plus it's not that hard to find out... split the carpet that runs in the trunk, it'll be pretty easy to find out if it has it or not).

well i work on all my own cars and on my 03 i had to pull the pump to replace the fuel gauge sending unit. So i figured if im going to buy a car that has fuel pump related issues might as well make sure that they are easier to fix then others.

There arent that many fuel pump issues on these cars, so the difficulty of having to replace a pump isnt a stickler at all.
