First time poster here, working on my sisters 2000 impala 3400. Replaced a leaky LIM gasket and now she has no speedometer and the check engine light is on. I don't know what code it's throwing but it was checked and is for the speedo. I don't have the code reader.
Anyway I'm wondering what it could be. Speedo was fine before, did I miss a connection? Which connection in the harness is for the speedo. I'm thinking it's either loose or did not get hooked up. I will look at the car again this weekend to see if I missed something. Any help would be appreciated.
Everything else is working just as is should. No leaks, and running good.

The speedometer connector is on the differential housing (where the passenger side axle goes into the transmission).

In order to really have it narrowed down, we need the exact code. Have it scanned again and ask for the code number

Thanks for the help, turns out the connector was unplugged. Simple fix.
