Picked up 2 complete sets of 2002 Impala PCM/BCM/Keyless modules and one spare radio, also going to pick up the SDM units tomorrow. Junkyard is doing 50% off this weekend, so its worth it to give it a shot at factory keyless entry, even if it means replacing every programmed module in the car. Laughing

While it would have been nice to get the matching ignition tumbler, keys are a rarity in junkyards. When I install all the modules in the car, how do I program the BCM to work with my existing ignition switch?

edit: changed thread title

Thanks! I'll see how it goes, just that I'll have to go to a dealer and have the radio VIN programmed.

Spanks! Very Happy I'm the leader around here in interesting swaps using factory parts haha.

If it works, the whole module set will run me about $100, plus radio programming which shouldnt be too terrible. A new BCM plus programming would be over $200 most likely. A ebay keyless entry could probably be done for under $50. Laughing

I have 30 day warranty on all the parts, so if I cant make it work, its no biggie.

EDIT: stupid forum that wont let me post a new reply.... lol

I swapped in the first set of PCM/BCM/SDM/Keyless/Radio modules, did the security relearn, everything works! Very Happy Have all the menu options in the radio for programming keyless entry, now I just need to get a remote and program it.

SOOOOOOO EXCITING!!! Laughing

P.S. the engine seems to run smoother and shift better with the different PCM haha. I'm going to try the second set of modules and see how they work, if both work then I'll sell one to somebody who wants to add keyless or has a bad BCM. Very Happy

I wound up receiving some remotes from my parents, programmed them...IT WOOOORRRKKKSSS!!!! Very Happy

Its nice to finally have keyless after all this time. I wish the horn was louder when you lock the doors, at first I had it set to short chip and it sucks, then changed it to long chirp, but its still not long enough to use the horn as a locator in a crowded parking lot. Confused

2 days ago my highbeams died, have to dig in and see if its BCM or switch related.

Neil dropped me a line and said you will need to buy a new module since you can not reprogram the OE unit. A reprogrammable replacement module lists for $345.00.
