Hey all, I'm new to the Forums and now an owner of an 04 Impala. I'm in love with the car. I had a question about HID's. What is the best and most cost efficient brand to get? I heard some good things about DDM. And my other question is I see a few kits come with something that attatches to the battery where other kits do not. What is the difference between those?

the DDM is a decent kit at a good price (for a cheaper retrofit kit)... you need to order a relay harness on the Impala as the startup current on most HID kits will eventually fry the factory wiring harness

Thanks a lot. I saw a video on YouTube and someone had a FlashTech kit that didn't hook up to the battery so it kind of threw me off. I also have a question about tinting the headlights. Whats the best way to go if you don't want to do them yourself?

Im With Stupid X2 on the DDM kit. i will be installing a DDM slim ballast kit on TSS's ride this weekend. for the price, it's a can't miss deal, and with a lifetime warranty, it's even more so. keep all paperwork if you do go DDM, though. the relay harness is well put together and enough guys here have gone HID that you won't have a shortage of answers to your questions. be forewarned, if you go 10K or more, be prepared to be beaten soundly by some of the members here, LOL peace, john

DDM is great products, i actually stopped by the actual shop in Huntington Beach here in California, and they are cool people, i had no idea i could have just stopped by instead of all of the online hassle Embarassed Laughing
got my dad some hids for his truck.. they said if you have a kit that doesnt seem to work send them back and they will make sure its not human error or something and they will be replaced.. my cousin had one side of his truck go out so were going back pretty soon to get it checked out, hopefully before i leave so i could let you guys know what happened..

and they seem to have changed the bulbs or something. when i bought my kit the bulbs came seperate from the harness for the hid (not relay harness) now they are part of the harness with 2 connectors i believe for the battery??
will hopefully get my dads hids on today or tomorow ill see how that goes, mine were just plug and play, hope the extra wires dont need anything done?

FlashTech does good work, Wes over there is a stand up guy. Havent looked into their HID kits, but more than likely they offer an optional relay harness. Some cars need them, some dont.

i just ordered new hid bulbs from DDM. waiting for them to ship seems to take forever though. i am going down from 10k to 6k because you dont get the best light output at the higher color temperatures and plus i dont want to get punched in the face Stop

My first set arrived in less than a week. Money solves some things, like this - for my second set, I paid for two day fed ex because I needed them quicker and they delivered on time.
