Ok, here's one for everybody.

Finally got around to getting a set of short dogbones (the upper engine mounts, not pet treats), and as I take off one of the nuts off the old one, the nut falls into the engine bay. I hear it go "plink" on something, but it never hits the ground. As I'm looking for the nut, I manage to knock a 7" long wrench in their too. Again, "plink", and nothing falls out the bottom. I spent more than an hour looking, and found nothing. So here's the question: does anybody know where all the stuff ends up that falls in there? Is there any particular place that eats tools and fasteners in our cars?

Oh yeah, first post, Yay!

You've been a member for almost three years and you're just now posting? Shocked

Anyway, I know exactly what you mean. I could drop a tool chest in there and it'll get lost. Although I've found some behind the air dam or by the engine cradle.

I always drop screws, clips, sockets etc. Last week I dropped a screwdriver head and I got a big magnet and put it in the area I dropped it and got it back. Just an Idea, get a big stong magnet and just stick it into the area you dropped it.

My buddy knocked a fastener off my front rail in the engine bay. The peice ended up sitting beside the end of the radiator, which, as it turns out, is pretty difficult to reach without a magnet.
