Good evening again!
Only one more question this evening!
The terminal tab on my rear defogger was bumped loose one day when I was using Old Red, my trusty 2000 Impala as a pickup to haul a few 8' 2x4s home from Lowes.
I have searched around and found information on using silver bearing solder to reconnect the terminal. I was successful in doing this but...I did not reconnect the terminal in the exact location it came from.
I peformed a test and yes I how have the FM signal back to the radio but when I press on the rear defrost button to test the function of the defroster the area around the repositioned terminal strip gets way too hot to touch. This can't be normal as the side that was undamaged dooes not get that hot.
Should I attempt to reposition the repaired terminal to where it originally was? I wouldn't think that being off 1.5 inches would cause a problem with increased resistance or whatever is causing it to heat up.
