Good evening!

I'm new to the forum.

I have a problem that popped up just a couple of days ago. The heater/AC control assembly does not seem to switch to the respective vents when I change the setting. Air seems to be coming out of all the vents - Dash Vent, Floor Vent and Windshield Vent, no matter what setting the selector knob is on.

The blower blows well on all settings but when I go from Defrost position on the main control to Dash Vents air continues to blow out all of the openings,
Dash Vent, Floor Vent and Windshield vent.

Before when I switched modes I could hear a damper close, now I don't hear it.

Any ideas from any of you master mechanics out there? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

Here's a tip... if you have no idea what you are talking about... don't post

To the OP, pull out the climate controls and make sure the vacuum lines are all fully seated and not cracked

You might want to look around for other vacuum leaks as well

Hmmmm,

I had new spark plugs installed a few days before I noticed this problem...

Someone might not have been too careful....

Thanks,

I will take her back to the garage. She's been a great set of wheels and I am trying to get everything in order since it is going to be my 16 year old son's wheels.

Two totally different systems. The vents are controlled by the vacuum lines and the blower speed is modulated by the BMR.
