I am trying to respond to PMs that I am getting, but when I send a response, it only sits in the outbox, not transfer to the sent items. There was one item that has been in there for quite some time, and my mailbox has never been over 51% full. Is there a reason for this? Thanks!

It doesn't leave the outbox and into the sentbox until the recipient reads it. Nothing to worry about.

If I'm not mistaken, whoever you sent the pm to has to read it for it to go to your sent box. If they have not done so it will sit in your outbox.

Edit: Iffy beat me to it.

Well when they sit in the outbox for a week or so I just assumed they didn't send or something. Never new they didn't leave it until the person reads the message...lol

I notice that after PM's are read, and go from my outbox into my sentbox, they show in my sentbox for a period of time and then are no longer there... Where do they go?

The website probably only stores the "sent items" for a set number of logins or a number of calendar days before purging that information, otherwise they probably end up incurring more costs to store information most people don't care about.

If I have an important message in the inbox or outbox/sentbox, I generally back it up to a separate location, like a word file on my laptop.
