Newbie here on the naioa website. I usually try and get in on the forums of whatever vehicle i own.
seems like a good place for some much needed info about this vehicle since this is the first Impala i have ever owned.

I traded my 2010 Camaro for this 07 SS b/c i needed the room to haul my kids around but still wanted a quick ride.

although i miss the styling of the Camaro, i have had the Impala for 3 weeks and all smiles so far. Very Happy

Welcome! I too would love to know how your SS compares to the Camaro (I'm pretty sure the Camaro beats it in pretty much every category, except maybe interior room. Smile)

I had the base model 1LS Camaro with the 312hp 278tq 3.6L SIDI DOHC motor.

As far as driving... the fun factor was way higher in the Camaro the 6spd manual helped Very Happy as i like to drive curvy roads and go through the gears.... but just cruising around and driving in traffic the Impala SS is the better car for the roominess, auto tranny, and all the creature features of the SS trim make this car easier to live with.

in a straight line acceleration was on par with each other from about 0-50. But i'm pretty postive that the Impala would start to walk on the V6 Camaro 50+... throw some curves in the mix and the Impala is left behind.

I definitely love the torque of the LS4 more than the LLT V6 in the Camaro, you did not really feel it as much since the torque didnt really peak until the higher rpm's. Although i was in love with the exhaust tone and the performance that came from the fairly small V6 in the Camaro... you cant beat the sound and torque of a V8 Cool

yeah it was hard, but cutting my monthly payments and my insurance in less than half seemed like a good decesion. Plus, It's just me and the kids i didnt need the truck and the car, just a nice 4 door sedan.
