My 2000 Impala LS has a problem with the front passenger door power lock . Initially , it couldn't be locked with the door switch nor the key fob but could be locked by manually with the key ! Then it got where the key wouldn't lock the door either ! Now the door can't be locked by any method ! I suspect the actuator but shouldn't you still be able to lock it with a key ? The rest of the doors work just fine ! Anyone have this experience and can share a possible fix ? Advice , anything ? Sad

The actuator may indeed need replacement, but you'll need to take the door panel off for the rest of the diagnosis...The linkage may be binding at some point or it's possible the actuator is frozen in position... Idea ...Ben

Do you hear any noise in the door when you touch the door lock switch?

Might be a bad/frozen actuator, or the latch itself might be bad. You'll have to remove the door panel and try to move the linkage rods by hand to find out.
