Hi I have read this forum for few weeks but have not gotten around to saying hello.

We own a 2005 Base Imp 94k orig(wife bought new)
3.4l
No major mods other than changing the speakers and the tires.

245/50/16 fit on factory steel and ride pretty nice at 80.Well the mod thing is

not entirely true I did have to mod the trunk pan to install the umm missing

fuel pump access panel ....

And yes the fuel pump and regualtor had to be replaced along with battery and

water pump aside from new brakes and a junkyard Police rear sway bar

shes all original.

It has been pretty good to us for about 90k

The only real complaint with this car is the 4t65e it has slips off and on and getting worse we are bracing for the worst ..

This is my first IMp I have owned my share GMs including a 63 Rivieria

(425 Woohoo) to me its always been a mixed bag to be honest my sister drove

a 78 Lesabre for several years (up till last year )great car .She has also

bought 2 BN Cavaliers that were lemons off the lot.So I will say upfront I take

anything GM with a grain of salt.I am not down on them though there is many

GM cars I would be happy to own Or have owned(the aforementioned

Riviera).I even enjoyed my 82 Citation with the Iron duke when I was a kid.

Well I am glad to be here and hope for good things.

Welcome to the forum.

You are aware that the tires you have on the car now are almost an inch shorter than stock... right? That might explain why your transmission is pissed...

The smaller tires certainly aren't helping the situation.

I was waiting for this post.... I still remember Buff's post from 2-3 years ago about his Adirondacks trip and towing with the SS.

I will have pics up by the weekend (have to take few).Im near Saratoga been Capital District resident for many years.I understand the tire\speed issue and appreciate your concerns.Since I have thanks to GM a defective speedometer it doesnt really matter other than lowering the gearing(Not a bad thing). The tranny issue is heat related anyway of that Im sure as it works fine when the cars cold or when the heat or ac are on full blast and the temps of the coolant are below 190.
