Hi guys i am a new member to this forum i recently bought my first car a 2005 maroon impala, i got a great deal since i bought it of a friend the car only has 80,000 miles on it and it cost me a little less than 3 k but i need to do a little bit of work on it and as a 19 year old soon to be college student i really dont know much about cars and might need some help....
It's not as good as the factory manual, but it's cheaper and better than nothing for most of what you'll need to do.
Learn to use and love the search function.
Buy an OBD2 code scanner.
Buy used tools from pawnshops instead of being tempted by the cheap junk at harbor freight. You'll need a set of metric sockets and wrenches, screwdrivers, and torx drivers. A floor jack and jackstands will make your life a LOT easier. Don't go under the car when it's only supported by a jack!!!
I'd wager the LIM gasket like a lot of Imps. But the Haynes manual is a good investment. That's how I found out what read out codes in the code scanner meant more than the book that came with the scanner said.
