Hi everyone, I've got a few questions for all of you. First of all, I want to purchase some of the molded mud guards for the front and back of my car. I read the article in the impalaHQ about the mud guards and it gave me a part number for the fronts and rears seperately (2496349) and (2496350). Only the part number for the front ones shows up in stock on gmpartsdirect.com. Also, on gmpartsdirect, they have a part number (19213384) for mudflaps that are supposedly contoured and fit both the front and rear. I was wondering which are the ones that are actually molded around the rockers and bumper?

I also need control arm bushings, front and back. My car is 10 years old and the control arms are very rusty, should I replace them too or just the bushings? What bushings should I get if I want to upgrade my handling?

Thanks in advance.

Can't help you with the mud flaps, but spend the extra 20 or 30 bucks and get new control arms. It's not worth the trouble of replacing bushings, especially if your control arms are rusted to hell.

Rockauto stocks mevotech control arms and dorman control arms, which would be better? Also, should I spring for the police/taxi control arms or are they the same?

Personally, if I had to do it all over again, rather than drilling out my ball joint rivets and to put new ones in and changing the bushings, I would have gotten the Wbodystore or ZZP control arms...

I have aftermarket mudguards on the front and found a pair for the rear at Goodwill of all places. They aren't the same mfr as the front, but that doesn't matter to me.

The brands are about the same, don't know about the police arm.

**I will, however, jack this thread to say that dorman makes a square, SS style trailing arm for around $20, pn 905-501 if anyone is looking for a cheaper version.**

Now, back to our regular scheduled program.

The police control arms are supposed to be stronger and more resistant to torque steer...I've never compared the two side by side though.

I'll have to have my dad help me put the rear ones on (as he did the fronts), but this I what they look like.

rear obviously since they ain't on yet.

The fronts have been on "him" for two years now.

And the fronts from the wheel well; sorry it ain't that great. I was trying to get finished with the oil then remembered I had not taken the pictures yet.

So what's everyone's opinions on the wbodystore control arms. Are they worth almost $300 when rockauto has them for $65 each?
