Well, Shouldn't call it an accident.. More of a collision.

Not too bad. But were sore as heck..

Damage to the outside of the car doesn't give it justice on how hard we got hit.

Took off from an inter section. We got up to about 30 - 35, Truck/line of cars in front of us hit the brakes hard to a stop. I slammed on my brakes and stopped before hitting him. Then SLAM. A newer dodge ram hit us in the rear.

Rear deck lid, bumper cover, bumper supports and bumper brace all damaged. On further inspection of the car, the rear supports for the frame are tweaked.
I'm off to the body shop tomorrow to get an estimate. Called my insurance company and they told me we should wait a few days, his insurance should be getting ahold of us. If we dont hear from them by Tuesday, they want us to call back and give them his info and they'll get ahold of them for us..

Here's a few pics:

20 years ago, you guys might have been in the hospital. Glad everyone is ok!

Auto engineers don't get enough credit for the lives they save every day.

Don't let the insurance bastards screw you around. I hope the other guy didn't have Snake Farm! *spit*.

Good luck!

I'll have the police report today.

But the drivers exchange the officer did says he have American family..
I told my son with a hit like that, if we had out '93 Saturn, he'd probably be in the hospital.

Got to love the full size Impalas.
Unfortuanally, with the age and milages, plus that damage. I see the insurance company totaling the car out.

Bad experience with a State Farm customer caused accident? The lady that I smashed up with my car had State Farm and the entire process was painless for me, they even picked up the tab for a rental because their customer caused the accident and I don't carry rental coverage.

They can certainly a take a hit. In the accident above, my Monte Carlo absolutely destroyed a Saab 9-5 (like passenger side suspension, fender, headlight, engine displaced, coolant everywhere, destroyed) and all my car needed was paint on the bumper and fender.

I got 2 estimates.
Dealership wants 3200 to fix the car.
A very reputable body shop in town here want 2895 to fix the car.

I called the PD for the report and said it's waiting for a supervisor to approve it. Dont know why but the gal told me Monday it should be ready.

FWIW, I had to wait 5 business days for my accident report to be available.

The deck lid is bent. Both places are replacing the deck lid and bumper cover with used ones.

I hope you guys went to the hospital to get checked out. So much crap happens to you months after a car wreck...unless you want to float the bill. I've been dealing with crap from a wreck last year and the insurance company still has yet to pay anything.

Yeah, we wen't right after the collision. I'm actually feel good today, A little tightness in my shoulders. Same with my 11 year old. My wife on the other hand seemed to get the worst of it. Hers strain is a lot worse. We have all the documentation and will continue to keep everything.

Hopefully it goes smooth.

Not only that but keep going to the doc for treatment. That was my problem. I thought I was O.K. then 4 ish month's later I was in pain again. Hear it is a year later and I never made it back to the doc. So my lawyer said its been so long that if I go now the other guys insurance won't pay for it. So I said screw it and am trying to seattle now for everything from back then. I'm gonna get screwed out of a couple grand easy on the deal.
