i know everyone says no VHT... but i guess im looking for how everyone did theirs them selves...
Supplies, steps, etc... i kinda figured VHT could turn out well with some high grit, like 2000grit (i think i saw it) wet sanding...? idk just want some ideas so i can try it myself... thanks in advance!

I used VHT to spray my tails... didnt sand them at all.
Then I took them to a body shop and had a professional clear coat them, charged me $35 and they came out better then I could have ever hoped for.

They shine just as bright as the car:

did you know the guy? or just walked in and was like... "hey can you clear coat these?" those do look really sharp...

the reason i ask about the sanding thing is because at my work we shine product up to a 5000+ finish... they shine really nice.... but also a special coat over them... (then again ive never seen them in direct sun light...

Nothin' wrong with that at all. That's what I did. I VHT'd my own and wet-sanded them after 3 coats. Turned out great, and they're not pitch-black, as I would've feared. I love it.

If you are gonna DIY this project and haven't done it before, I'd advise you to get a junk yard tail light and practice before you have at your lights. I've seen some pretty nasty VHT jobs by people that didn't know what they were doing.

no, if you spray them black, they will be black, not tinted, but solid black.

You have to use a mix of clear and black to tint the lights, then a straight clear to make them shinier.
