Instead of writing a different post for each one and clogging up the forum, I figured I would post them all here.

1) "klank" from back end when I hit bumps. I'm thinking rear shocks/struts. It also does a repetitive "thud thud thud thud" but really fast like a drum almost. It also skips to the side when going at highway speeds if I hit a bump. Assuming that is alignment. And this is all rear end stuff.

2) Is a 9c1. The plugs on the roof are rotted through so when it rains, it leaks. Where could I get more plugs?

3) Power steering failure at stand still or very low speeds (1 mph) but once I am moving it is perfect. Does the pump need to be changed or is it something simple like a sensor?

4) Steering is weird. It turns in notches as opposed to one smooth circle. I was told it needs an alignment so I'll be doing that but I'm also thinking it feels like a bad tie rod. When turning, it is like it goes in increments. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the patience and the help.

For issue number one, I suggest you check your sway bar end links. When they break you can get all sorts of noises like you are mentioning.

sway bar end links. I'll check them this evening. Where would those be located?

I take it that you checked the fluid level.

If you lay on your back under the car you will find the sway bar running along the 'wishbone' type thing in the back. IIRC, it's the only item that runs across the entire length of the car back there. At the end there will be piece that runs from the sway bar up to the strut. I'd say just grab onto the swaybar near one of the wheels and give it a wiggle. It shouldn't move much when you do that.

Edit: A picure is worth a thousand words. The red thing near the spare tire well is what I'm talking about (except yours will be black).

No. I haven't checked fluid levels. Fluid levels on what? (Was that a noob ? lol)

Iffy, thanks. I thought that's where it was but I wanted to make sure. I'll give it a wiggle and see how much I can get it to move (that's what she said). On another note, I want your exhaust!!!

That's actually Bigrod118's Impala (but I do have the same exhaust). Anyways, the part that might be broken if further up towards the wheel. Follow the bar and you will find it. My brother had one break on his Intrigue and it broke into two pieces. It'll be pretty clear if its your problem.

Thanks. I gotta get some lifts for the car. I know I'll be doing a good bit of work on this thing so I might as well pick some up now.

I'd recommend Moog end-links to go with it.

So any help on #s 2-4? Even if it's just confirmation on my assumptions. And where to get the replacement plugs for the roof. Thanks guys.
