What battery do you recommend for under the hood?

I'm running a DC level 4 and a sundown 1200dv2.

I was thinking along the lines of XS power, Red top, yellow top, or maybe kinetic.

Any suggestions are good!

I don't know what size to get if i go with xs or kinetic, so the size could be helpful also.

Thanks!

Are you having issues with lights dimming? If so, you need a high output alternator.

Yellow top for under the hood. Usually, (but not always) Kinetics go in the trunk near the system as a second battery. And as Iffy said, if you're having issues with dimming lights then you need a bigger alternator.

also if you are having issues you can try regrounding everything and running bigger gauge wire for it. Also some big gauge wire going from the battery to the alternator to the main fuse block will improve the situation.

No, no dimming lights. The battery I have now is a POS and I just wanted to upgrade to something a little nicer that would be better for my situation.

All wiring is 1/0, including big 3.

So you guys would go with a yellowtop?

Many people us XS under the hood, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the help!

The box is around 2 cubes, its a single 12. I was going to go with a 15, but i just decided to play it safe. Box is carpeted, charcoal body and black sides. Box is tuned to 32 hertz.

EDIT: Ahh I see you are an aq man. I was going to go with aq, but I decided sundown instead. My box is double baffle also, and a flush mount on top of that. I bet your system slams pretty good! Twisted Evil

Hows your alt hold up? I was looking into a new alt, where did you pick that bad boy up?

yea you couldve did the 15, no problem

yea i like the aqs, i actually had sundown b4 these, but i sold them to buy my subs. wish i didnt do that Crying or Very sad so next ill be looking at getting a 4500d

my system is cool. its nothing big. had a show last sunday. did a 146.7 db just playing music ( lil jon). but ask sumdude, he has heard my system, ill be able to tell you how it sounds

my alt holds u pretty good. i still need to add 2 more runs, 1 positive and 1 negative. thinking about switching my 12v batteries out for 14v batteries. but my voltage doesnt drop below 12.8 with what i have now.
thats not bad running 2 2200 amps at .5 each

oh and i got my alt from Mechman http://mechman.com/store/index.php/cPath/8
155a at idle (800k) and 270a at 1.8k

Nice, I'd love to hear it, but I'm in ol' Indiana.

What do you mean I could have done a 15 easy? It would be close cutting it because I still require the ability to get out my spare tire.

Lil' Jon always has good base lines!

400 isn't bad for that alternator, I may have to pick one up! Cool
