Will this trans "plug and play" in my 2003 base model impala? do the FDR match up and b/c its a 2003 the electronics should be compatable, right?

From what I can find, the Buick LeSabre was offer both in the 2.86:1 ratio (same as your car) and also as a 3.05:1 ratio (special package). You might be good, you might not. Confused

You'll have to look at the tag on the transmission and compare it to this guide to tell. Link

I dont think W-bodies will accept H-body transmissions due to different sizes and mounting points. I know on Morad's ebay site where they sell complete powertrains out of H-bodies, they say you can only use the engine in a w-body, nothing else will work.

It's the same transmission, why wouldn't it work?

At that point you might as well just rebuild the one your have because swapping the case is 3/4 of the way to a rebuild
