well sadly a ford slapped me... >.< but anywhoo he was going quite a bit faster than i was coming up to the stop light and waxed me... it was an explorer too.. a 4.0 older one... i got on the gas and it was just soooo sad how little power i have on the low end high end of the power band im okay... better than low end... im looking for some bolt ons to make my 3400 a little bit faster... without breaking my wallet in the process...

You don't have that many easy options for a 3400. I assume you already have a CAI? If not you can swap the 3500 UIM onto your 3400 to get some power. You could also get some ported manifolds, but I'm not sure how useful those would be.

Yeah not many options. I am still stuck at CAI and Exhaust. Pretty much the cheapest us 3400 owners can do. I would say downpipe, but don't know if that would help torque or not. Ported manifolds, or headers, but virtually don't do much unless your F/I. Throttle body possibly, intake manifold as mentioned. I think 3500 heads help don't they? I am just throwing things out there man. As I would like More power too. Sad

Absolutely nothing. The only thing throttle body spacers are good for are tapping them to use as a NOS access point.

Read this thread for some laughs.

Laughing Laughing

omg that was awesome... alright scratch that idea i do have one on my blazer dont kno the difference with or without it but ill keep looking around and before i buy ill come here and ask you guys for sure

and.... im calling the guy about this tomorrow.. since my transmission is going.. when it heats up now its max line pressure... did a lot of stopping and going when i was house shopping today.... did it for about an hour... than bam bam bam every gear... did it before added some lucas and it went away... drove like 100 miles round trip to get dinner and what not maybe wasnt that far but seemed like it... anywhoo didnt do it than... im assuming the constant gear change caused some issues since its only first gear thats going... manual shift to first gear with engine braking sounds harsh... really harsh..
http://chicago.craigslist.org/.....01161.html

around here the transmission for a base 3.4 is over 500 for an OK one... 910 for an HD one... think its worth it? if its 03+ that is...
