Misfire has been driving me crazy for the past few months. At 94k, I decided to change the plugs and wires during Easter at the mom's in the country. Boy what a bitch! Managed to break and mangle the wire boots and heat shields. Didn't do #2 cause it looked too difficult and didn't want to be stuck up in the woods.
So while the wife was visiting her mom I bought the improved Dorman intake, upper and lower gaskets as well as the valve cover gaskets and water pump while I was at it.
Cost: $200 parts- $300 Labor (including oil change, cleaning throttle body-filthy,putting in plug #2 AND throwing in #1/4 coil pack!!!!)-Awesome shop! Nice folks. He showed me the inside of the intake and said he has seen them with 1/2 an inch of crud. The topside of the heads looks extremely clean and said I must do diligent maintenance!!
He says 'puter shows bad MAF, but it can await til I find one cheap (who has one???).

Sooooo, I stuff that was gonna have to be done, IS DONE!!!!!!

Now bring on the next 100k!!!!!! I love this car. Maybe I'll still have it in 20 years!!!!! Cool

Aww come on Laughing , Plug 2 isn't that difficult . I took a pair of channel locks to it and went to town. (Granted it took me a long ass time and some busted knuckles, but I got it)

LOL!!!! I thought long and hard on it up there. Getting my big ass UP into the engine bay and wrestling with the first 3 changed my mind. I did bust my knuckles and got some ruff hands for a couple of days using channel locks LOL!

Looks like the plug and wire weren't done after all. I don't get it though. It was mentioned AND the plug and wire were on top the parts on my seat. Shocked . I'll see 'em tomorrow when I drop off parts. I'm hopeful it will be worked out. Wink
