After I replaced my plugs (Autolite 104's) wires (store brand) and injectors (early L67 injectors), my car ran AMAZINGLY WELL! And it still does.
BUT my DIC was telling me I was doing twice as good as I really was!

I just filled up, and I fit in 11.26 Gallons. Now I'm used to my DIC being a little bit off, but it said I only used 5.8 Gallons!?

It's saying I average 38.8MPG which is a good mix of 40% highway, 55% city, and 5% drive thru's / idle.

The instantaneous MPG hardly ever go below 20, even upon acceleration. And keep around 40 - 50 cruising at 60.

I know my range is always screwed up, because my sending unit has been on the fritz since I bought the car.

I guess I need to know what parameters the DIC looks at to calculate its MPG and fuel used.

Thanks for any help!

The sender is easy to replace, there's an access port in your trunk under the carpet; no specialty tools required.

Did you get it tuned yet?

With a stock L36 IFR table your L67 injectors will be running quite rich.

Like Nightryder pointed out...

If you haven't tuned the car yet, you are not only likely doing damage to the motor, but you are poisoning the cat & O2 sensors and making the PCM very confused (evidence in what it thinks you fuel mileage is)

The DIC isn't that accurate to begin with (mostly because it relies on IFR which is very inexact), but running an untuned Top Swap just exacerbates the problem
