so im lookin on ebay and i seen this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors.....5190c425de

is it possible to get one of these, rebuild it, mod it a little then swap the regular 3800 with the SC version with a new TC and Tranny

and cant i get like a diff gear ration and other s**t done to the tranny to make the car faster

wouldnt it need the ECM or some other computers....

im askin cause ive never attempted somethin like this and im sure it would be hella fun and worth it in the end..[/url]

Top swap, you dont need to pull the engine and its a lot easier. Sounds like you have no idea what you are doing (and if you do i apologize). It wouldnt be worth it for you to do an engine swap.

Doing any sort of top swap/engine swap is a real pain on a pre 2004 Impala. You need to get an 04+ transmission so you can get the PCM to play nice with everything. I looked into top swapping my 2002 Monte Carlo and quickly realized it would be more cost effective to buy a GTP instead.
