Hrm....I wonder what it could be......

No one has any right to bitch about cleaning their wheels...... Laughing

And no, it did not come complete with a mullet either. I went on the look for a beater car for school and originally came across a base 91 Firebird with 106K on the clock for $2000. Well, the jagoff sold it out from underneath me and I kinda fell in love with the body style of the early 90s Firebird, so I went on the search. I came across this one.

Its a 91 Firebird Trans-Am with the GTA package. Only around 2000 91 GTAs were made and only 222 in this color were made. Its got the 305 TPI (LB9) and is an auto. T-Tops, leather, WS6 suspension group, 2.73 LSD rear end, and is extremely optioned out (the original owner allegedly owned Bowser Pontiac in Pittsburgh). Best part is, its only got 72K on the clock. The previous owner put a full exhaust with MAC shorty headers and an MAC cat-back, sans the cat.

It needs a paint job and the seats recovered, but other than that, its sound. No rust, one dent and a mean sounding V8 all for $3000. Its a real head turner.

That's the cleanest older TA I've ever seen. Not bad man. You should go get one of those mullet wigs and drive around and whistle at girls for s**t and giggles. I would. Wink

Are you sure it's an LB9 and not an L98??

If so, my first mod would be an L98 swap... those 305's were notoriously weak motors

Other than that.. looks pretty good for a 20 year old mullet mobile

Is it bad that that first thing I thought of when I saw a maroon Firebird was that episode of the office?

On topic, that's a nice car. I'd certainly drive one if I could find one at a decent price.

I had an '88 GTA back in high school ('88-'89).

I'm 99.9% sure all GTAs got the L98. That and the badges are pretty much what made them GTAs. Confused

Oh yeah, despite being a PITA to clean, I loved those wheels! To this day, I still think those are the best factory wheels ever put on a car.

After a little research, both the LB9 (305 CID, 5.0L) and the B2L (F-Body Packaged L98, 350 CID, 5,7L) were available on the GTA for 1991

Here's the catch, it looks like the 5.0L only came w/ the 5 speed manual on the GTA and the 5.7L only came w/ the auto on the GTA

So if you have an auto, you should have the B2L 5.7L motor

That was the only thing that looked weird. The rest of the car looks pretty clean for $3000! Maybe get the small scratches buffed out and have it detailed?
