2000 Impala base model is losing battery when sitting for 2 days. When I pull the radio fuse, the battery is not drained, therefore something in line with the radio fuse is pulling excessive power.

Here's a quote from imp in another post:

well I got back from the dealer about an hour after i got there and this is what they told me... They hooked up a parasitic draw tester and found there there was 888 milliamps being drawn from somewhere. They started to remove fuses and found that if the radio fuse is takin out it drops down to 23 milliamps. They disconnected the factory amp and stayed at 23 milliamps. So it was the factory amp that was causing my problems so i think Im going to ditch it! Besides i will be getting an upgraded system here soon anyway.

I don't plan on an upgrade, so would replacing the factory amp be a viable solution or is there something else to try first?
