I see several recommendations to use only an AC Delco PCV valve in the 3.8l when its replaced. Is there a reason for this that actually translates to a difference in how the engine performs? Thanks.

Aftermarket PCV valves have a nasty habit of burning oil. It's less than 10 dollars at the dealer, it's not worth saving a few dollars and having a PCV valve that doesn't work as well.

A few months ago I got a new PCV valve, I forgot what brand. I got it for AZ for a couple of bucks. No tax on emissions parts either. Smile

Sabrewings had a thread a few years ago for this exact complaint. He was burning oil, and it didn't stop untill he replaced the no-name brand PCV valve he had put in a few months earlier. Just get the Delco. Laughing
