Im only 17 and im trying to find an impala for my first car. But I dont know which model to look for. I wish to find one thats cheap. I want the base because its the cheapest to get but it has a 3400Liter engine. I want the ls because it has a center console and it has a 3800Liter engine. I dont know which to get.

The LS has different suspension than base and 3.8 has 20 more horses than the 3.4. Both get roughly similar gas mileage. There's more, but I can't think of all the little details.

Get the LS, that way you will have aluminum wheels (an option on base impala's), the 3.8 (another option for the base), rear spoiler (unless the car have the spoiler delete option), console shifter, a nicer upholstery or leather, fog lights, key-less entry, DIC (opt), better suspension, color matched rocker panel and a tachometer (or the 6 gauge cluster if the car have the sport appearance package)

Damn, I was missing the tach, leather, fog lights, spoiler, and suspension but my insurance quote is for a LS, wtf!? Shocked Carfax is clean too..... Confused

But get the LS, more options and upgrades to be done if you're into that.

You'd be surprised what you can find for 1500. Try craigslist. It may have one or two small things to fix but it'll be worth it in the long run. Definitely go LS, at the very least. I got a base because I was impatient and I'm kicking myself for it! lol

Well, leather was an option on base and LS impala's but the stitching is nicer on the LS

Oh word? I'll be looking for a base with leather seating now. I've yet to see one with that!

Nah, they usually take the push bumper and stuff off before they sell them so you'd look part of the g.p.

not hating or tryna offend you but... if ur gonna spend all that cash on mods.. why not just spend the extra cash on a decent impala that will hold up to what u have planned.. impalas are solid cars but like any other car, if its cheap, you may just get wat u pay for and may end up paying double the price of wat u got it for just fixing little details... just my 2cents
