Real men take 6 days to do the job, drink 3 six-packs, cuss, and always have a bolt left over.

LOL, that sounds like me when I did mine...all except for the beer. My alternator ended up with one less bolt holding it on when I was all done with the project. I did LIM gaskets, UIM gaskets, PEMs, and DP all at the same time. Wink

Took him 1 hour it appears but I know longer. I will make a dvd from that and take it out to the car when I do mine. He did the lifters and all so should be easier for just doing the gaskets. I wish it would warm up here to about 50 degrees on a Saturday so I can play it with it myself.

Go to the junk and practice will help get your speed up. Give the yard workers a beer they will let you stay long as you want.

What would change by doing this on 02 3.8? Also why would he change the lifters?

I think he did the lifters because it better then then later. Its like changing a timing belt you might as well do the water pump and must people do. You don't have to do the lifters if you don't want.

Great video, thanks, have it loaded to my hard drive now.

Still debating doing the LIM myself, but does look doable. Will definitely use GM aluminum frame gasket. Like Fel-pro stuff but they dont have an aluminum frame set yet, correct?

What strength threadlocker on lower intake bolts?

What strength trhreadlocker on upp intake?

Ultra Copper RTV ok for end seals?

P.S. I have my oil out for analysis, my leak/useage is very minor now and trying to catch the reservoir making another dip or will see what the UOA says when it comes back. 2005 3.8L approx 82k. I find 0 external leaks, none at elbows or anywhere I can find.
