After trans filter change (have bought new gasket also) is there any pattern suggested to tighten back up or just skip around?

Will torque to 10lbs from what I read but if you tighten 20 bolts how to you keep track if you skip around while tightening or just do all lightly first then go around in a circle for 10lbs.

Ideas? I usually try to skip around but get lost to where I have been in short order.

Go around the pan and tighten each bolt a little at a time until the final torque is obtained.

I marked each one I torqued with a grease pencil.

Work in a crisscross motion around the pan.

Yup, just crisscross all over the oil pan trying to remember which ones you did, you probably wont miss more than one or two bolts which is no big deal. I usually tighten in 3 steps, if you miss a bolt the first time, you'll more than likely get it on the second round, then a final torquing (you can do this one just going around the pan).
