This website has alot of diagrams for the 3.8 and 3.4 in the impalas. Might be useful or cool to look at.

Click on where it says 6-CYLINDER ENGINE and then scroll down after the page loads. I think the 11th diagram down is the N/A 3800 series 2.

Am I correct? Just wanted to know... I like trying to see how things go together and maybe someday I can work on my own engine. Lemme know, you guys see the 3800 on there?

It's for RWD 3400 and 3800s. However, if you wanted to do a conversion...

That is the closest I've seen to the GM parts catalog that I use.

Thanks for the replies. So if it is for a RWD car, the info on the 3800 engine and components (like cooling electrical and other things) would be the same?

Here's an exploded image of fuel related parts and manifolds just so you can tell me if this is the same 3.8 under the hood of the imp.

Good find. I didn't see any differences in the 3400 engine diagrams except maybe some minor mounting hardware differences. All the internal and major parts should be the same.

it IS FWD diagrams. RWD doesn't have an exhuast crossover like that, or the FWD Engine cover like that either.

Yea it is cuz on the top right of the diagram it has the date on it and it says 99" which was the year the 2000 imps where made and then released in 2000. So i really have a 1999 chevy impala Laughing and everyone's car is really a year older than the name states. Very Happy

Huh...guess I didn't look any further than where I got when I clicked. Saw the RWD 3400 in there. My bad. Cool

Can't you go to the dealer and ask about parts you need to know about? I have a bunch of various printouts just like these from the dealer.
