i was wondering if you can put a dual exhaust kit from flowmaster or other brands onto a 2005 base 3.4L impala.

If not i would like to get a chrome tip for my exhaust pipe but dont know of any...

You can use an SLP or GMPP exhaust, but you need to modify the downpipe or get a different downpipe to accomodate it.

I thought all exhausts bolted up regardless of engine. Plenty of 3.4L owners have the GMPP without modifications.

I have the corsa kit, it bolted up just fine. i think it is the other side that is different. (manifold to downpipe)

I was told that the downpipe would have to be modified...but I could be wrong.

Someone gave you bad info. Any of the cat-backs will work on the 3.4L, 3.8L or the 3.8L SC

You will need the 'second hangar' kit to go from single to dual

The 3.4L DP is different where it bolts to the rear manifold, but the cat back end is the same as the 3.8L.

Not hard at all. If you can turn a ratchet you can do this.

there isnt anything specifically for the 3.4, all cat backs are the same (fitment). Anything for a 00-05 Impala, 97-03 Grand Prix, 00-05 Monte Carlo, 00-03 Regal will work. All are W-Bodies. There is probably 6 different catbacks available (possibly more)

GMPP
SLP
Dynomax
Corsa
Borla
ZZP
Magnaflow

Plus others.

GMPP is also available at Summit Racing, Around $525

I don't buy anything form GMPartsDirect, their shipping is ridiculous.
