my 2001 impala gas gauge is messed up. it either reads full or empty. i put 20 in at 2.56g and it reads full same as if i put 10. then when i run it low when light kicks on needle jumps all the way to bone dry empty but i know i have alittle time to get some where to fill up. it doesn't really bother but it would be nice to have it fixed. someone say it was a fuel level sensor, and another told me i have to buy hole new pump. anyone know
ebay has sensor for 20

Is the level sensor, IIRC the sensor is available as a single part, Zspot can confirm or deny this.

The sensor is available seperate. It's basically a float with a sensor on it. They go out all the time on various GM vehicles. I would start there. And when you have the pump out to replace the sensor, if you find more wrong, adjust your game plan. Laughing
