Hey all i bought that impala ill have pics soon just gotta get it all washed and sexy but i know i read somewhere that they dont like being boosted. So if i ever need to what is the proper method of boosting the impala? Im familiar with boosting and turning wrenches but is there a certain way that the impalas like versus the regular way or anything i should know?

Thanks

The SS came from the factory with a supercharger. If it's the 3800, boost is your friend.

Boost as in jump start.

No, they dont like it at all. Charge the battery, replace the battery or use a jumper box (Battery Booster Box). The boxes are regulated and sont spike like a car to car jump.

I haven't heard someone refer to jump starting a car as "boosting" in years. Ah well, guess I still have turbo on the brain. Laughing

What about using the Impala to boost a dead car? Do they not like that either?

My cousins 96 Bravadas battery was dead and I jumped it with the Impala and had no problems.

Jumping your Impala or jumping other cars with your Impala will put your BCM at risk.. you may not have a problem the first, second or third time, but eventually, you will destroy the BCM

I had to jump my car a few times when my battery was on its way out and ended up with a bad BCM a few months later. Can't guarantee it was the sole cause but most likely.

Although every time I got jumped it was from campus police with the jumper hookups on their impala 9c1's. Are those regulated or just more convenient connections to the battery?
