2003 Chevrolet Impala

PostPosted: Fri Jan 01, 2010 10:22 pm    Post subject:  Low Tire Pressure Reply with quote

Hello
I hope this is the right place for this.
I have a 2003 LS with every option except OnStar.
A while back my low tire pressure light came on and I used the radio to reset this after fixing the low tire.
Since this the BCM went and I had GM replace the BCM.
Now this warning came on again and all the tires are OK so I go to the radio to reset and it isn't there.
I called and the GM service manager told me that I never had this option according to my VIN.
I have tried the reset with the light switch and also timed it to exactly 5 seconds several times and it will not go off.

Why did the new BCM not have this option turned on?
Why can't I reset this message?

Any Ideas?

Rob

was the BCM replaced under warranty? Bring it back to them, at the very least, they should be able to turn it off with the Tech2

I had several BCM's replaced under warranty. One of the problems is how long since it was replaced? One of my early ones wasn't programmed correctly by the dealer. My fog lights didn't work, along with a host of other things like my remote door locks, a real PIA. I didn't find out about all the things that were missing for a while and I was told that after a few dozen starts, the BCM won't accept re-programming so they installed a new one. (If this isn't true, it was the dealer's attempt to keep from admitting to GM they didn't know what they were doing)

The dealer was correct, the BCM is one program and done item.

It sounds like they didn't program the BCM right, but without being able to go into it and see all the options one cannot be 100% certain.
