It means the engine is running lean. A common cause of this is unmetered air entering the system. Check for vacuum leaks or a leak in your intake system. I'm not an expert in this area, but other members should chime in tomorrow morning with more help.
Protip: If you don't know what you're doing, don't do it.
My wifes GP did that, ended up being a vacuum leak. It was the rubber piece on the throttle body, a big hose and small hose run into it, got one at a junkyard. They seem to get brittle and crack easily.
