Its not overly difficult, just remove the two plastic trim pieces and pop it off. Start at the bottom and pop out the fasteners, because when you get to the top of the door, you have to pull it up and out, and it just makes it a little simpler to do.

Don't be surprised if the door fasteners break, the white ones that hold the panel on. They get brittle after time, but you can pick them up at the local autoparts store.

Careful not to "crack" the panel. I had to take mine off this past weekend for the first time and it was freezing outside (no garage) I removed all the screws and started at the bottom pulling the panel, when I got to the lower left the fasteners weren't budging and I pulled too hard and actually cracked the panel at the corner. Looking for a new tan LS panel now Sad

For a few bucks you can pick up a door panel removal tool. Basically a big fork that goes around the fasteners so you can apply even pressure and not hurt the panel.

It's very cold here too (NE Md.)..I'm having to do this w/door closed,as it will not open......was suggested to run the car w/heater so as to make things less likely to break.

I don't know if you'll be able to take off the panel with the door closed. Maybe if you put the seat back all the way but I'm not sure. Let us know how it works.

You won't be able to get the panel off with the door closed...

Seeing how you don't know why it won't open, can you call your local shop and ask. If they haven't had this problem before I'm guessing they can figure it out.

That sounds like it needs more than a lube job.

I have never had a problem that a lube job wouldn't fix. Laughing
