Well, I finally found a car that more suited my needs. I didn't get much for the LS as resale value for 2002's are pretty much s**t nowadays, even with a scant 63k on the odometer.

I did end up with a clean black on black '03 E39 530i 5-speed that I simply fell in love with. It's more of a road car than the Imp was and I really missed "driving". The LS handled ok, but never really inspired much confidence when pushed hard.

I will stop in from time to time to say hello, but I'm off to new pastures as there must be about 50 BMW boards on the net.

BTW, I really appreciated all the great posts and learned an awful lot about the W-body.

Take care all!

the Geez.

The Bimmer has 108k on it. Just broken in. Wink

108k is nothing for a 530i. The car has a good service history and is still in the good graces of mother BMW.

In the short time I've been able to sample its personality, I've been loving every minute of it.

Plus it only cost me 10 large out the door.

While I shall hope the BMW gods continue to grace your car, I would also hardly say that 108k is "nothing" either. I would have dug around for less miles personally.

What did you get for your LS? I know you said it wasn't much, but seeing as they still charge a fair amount at dealers I'm curious.

I live in New England and park outside. The old Imp suffered greatly and it showed, especially after it was sideswiped by a plow truck last year.

I'm sure if had I waited I would have found a better car, but isn't that always the case when you buy used? Wink The best pricing on summer cars around here is right around Christmas when no one wants to drive one but you are at the mercy of inventory on hand.

My wants were very specific to this car so to me, it was worth it. Just like when I bought the Impala Very Happy
