I use GM power steering fluid, and optikleen on the washer, GM claims that their power steerig fluid will reduce steering noise, but since I don't have any noise I cannot confirm or deny this claim.

power steering fluid, pretty much it is all the same. i mean you can get whatever is on the super market shelf lol

just use deicer this time of the year. if i use anything but deicer, even if it says rated to -20 it still freezes on my windshield. again its all the same stuff. however as long as its translucent blue. i once bought this opaque orange stuff and it stained the bottle in my brothers impala. now 4 years later the bottle is still orange. makes me wonder what the washer fluid hoses look like on the inside.

Alan

as Alan said, PS is the same, so just grab some at the local parts store.

I use the standard blue stuff during the spring, summer. Switch to the Prestone De-icer or RainX De-icer stuff come fall. I try to run the tank dry before adding the de-icer stuff.

yeah, good stuff, wont get anything heavy off the windshield, but that morning frost will clear right up and the de-icer wont freeze up on the glass like normal stuff.

Big Thumbs Up to the Prestone De Icer. I have three jugs left of Peak -20 blue only because Sams Club had a case of six for $10 when I still had two cars.

If they would have had a case of the De Icer for that I would have had a seizure. Woot Love that stuff.

Whatever they sell at the gas station for two bucks. Plus a bottle of isopropyl alcohol for 99 cents.

Interesting. The alcohol doesn't corrode the rubber lines or anything? Ever have freeze-up in the lines?

Regardless of running -45 stuff year round, my driverside line freezes every winter, unless I park in the garage at night. PITA. Evil or Very Mad

Never had a freeze up, nor have I ever had a line melt or corrode or whatever it is that rubber does.

Alcohol lowers the freezing point of the liquid, as well as the water that's frozen on your windshield. It's good for clearing off ice in a jiffy.

This is the stuff that I have been using.
http://www.mrcleanwipers.com/wash.html

I was at Target once and they were closing it out, I bought like 25 - 1 Gallon jugs for 88 cents each.

It has been great stuff, Never freezes.
