Hi NAIOA,

I just bought our '02 Impala today, and brought it home. I immediately noticed the clunking and sensation coming from the left and right turns, as well as during low acceleration and light deceleration (at slow speeds), and that brought me here (a rotten egg smell and a malfunctioning fuel indicator as well, but I think the former is hopefully the gasoline and the latter is the fuel sending unit).

I believe this clunking is likely the ISS issue. I will likely attempt lubrication first followed by replacement of the faulty part (and hope for resolution!). The vehicle has about 243 000 KM.

Very impressive knowledge base here.

The primary reason I purchased an '02 Impala was the good price (very affordable), NHTSA crash test results, highway fuel mileage and great highway driving. I'll be getting Goodyear Ultra Grip ICE winter tires, just like the numerous police forces use, and for sure this along with the excellent braking system will make a very safe winter commuting vehicle up here in the North.

Thanks for the information!

If you're "up in the north" then what the hell is Winnipeg?

Welcome, though.

I should be surprised at the lack of knowledge in this thread, but its NAIOA, so I'm not.

Hi Lingenfelter, I am currently in Woodstock! I figured K-W may be more familiar to the users - it's still a very tiny city in the grand scheme of things.

My buddy is a huge fan of Lingenfelter 'Vette's. Yourself?

I see you've done some mods - do you have any experience with the ISS lubrication or did you have the dealer do this? Your FWI v2, and GMPP Handling, did that make a noticeable difference in your opinion?
